HDTV DLP Projectors
DLP comes from Digital Light Processing.
As LCD Screens DLP Projectors come in the class of light projection systems. That means that there is an external light source which is projected on a screen. In LCD TVs the light source, a fluorescent bulb is behind the screen panel including a colour filter and the light is passed through or blocked.
Therefore such systems are called Rear Projection Screens. DLP Projectors are two-component systems. There is the projector part with a strong light source and a screen in front of it at a certain distance on which the picture is projected. Therefore called Front Projection.
If you like the flair of movie theatres this is the closest you can get to it in your own home. You might even use the wall as the screen if suitable (a coloured wallpaper, of course, wouldn’t be the best choice for that purpose). DLP doesn’t make sense in small rooms. So if you don’t have a distance between both walls of at least 15 ft available it wouldn’t be recommended.
If you consider to buy a DLP projector closely pay attention to the following points
